McCloud Chamber Holds Annual Meeting

The McCloud Chamber of Commerce met October 26 to elect new directors, select officers, review accomplishments and make plans for the future.

This year's annual Chamber of Commerce meeting was held at the McCloud River Lodge.

Darlene Mathis, Chamber President, announced that the Chamber has rented the office in the bank building. It will soon open as a Chamber office and a Visitor's Center. Other accomplishments during 2011 include the publication of a new chamber brochure, updated its web site and embarked on some new advertising and marketing campaigns, including in Visit California visitor's guides. A McCloud billboard is in design and will soon be seen at the Oasis exit of I-5 (north-bound direction). Ms. Mathis reviewed other accomplishments including the annual events which bring thousands of visitors to town each year.

Looking forward, President-elect Mathis expects the focus in 2012 to be (1) events, including a new Octoberfest), (2) more advertising and promtion of the town, and (3) economic development activities.
