The Great Exchange is now non-profit
McCloud's newest store, the Great Exchange, has converted to non-profit status. Angelina Cook, the Board's President, said that "the proceeds from the "thrifty shop" operations will be used to promote sustainable community building." Ms. Cook explained that "We are drawing upon a diverse base of local talents and assets to present a series of workshops designed to enhance local self-reliance and sustainable economy by increasing skills for self-sufficiency and natural resource stewardship to stimulate green job creation in the region."
The Great Exchange is looking for donations of quality used clothing and handcrafted items for consignment, especially in the upcoming gift season. They're hoping to offer products from local crafts people and artisans. There is provision for in-store credit in exchange for clothing donations.
Located at 301 Main Street, open 11 - 5 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, shoppers will find seasonally appropriate clothing for men, women and children, as well as consigned crafts.
The founding Board of Directors is: Angelina Cook, President; Svea Scott, Treasurer; Curt Farnell, Amaria Shamansky, and Victoria Brenner.
