Heritage Days 2010

The McCloud Heritage Museum, sponsors of this year's Heritage Days, were pleased with the turn-out. Offered downtown on Saturday was live music - a variety of entertainers and musicians, a quilting show that filled upstairs at the Mercantile. Sharon Jackson of Castella provided a demonstration of spinning wool, the McCloud Healthcare Clinic educated about Type II diabetes and smoking cessation. Many merchants set up booths, offering a wide variety of quality arts and crafts. McCloud Local First's booth attracted people interested in the organizations trail projects. The Trail Association netted five new members! Also sponsored by McCloud Local First Network was a "jail" booth. Irene Rigau and Dana Smitt, dressed as jail birds, and entreated passers-by to donate toward the Museum's efforts to replace the roof on the 1927 Jail that they hope to eventually restore. The Antique Tractor and Engine Club paraded a wonderful variety of restored old tractors and drew enthusiastic applause from the large crowd that had gathered. Further entertainment was provided by the Law Dawgs and Pistoleros Old West Re-enactors who presented scenarios of historical events.
