The goal of the Think Local First Campaign is to promote local businesses, facilitate collaboration among local businesses, and educate shoppers about the benefits of keeping dollars in McCloud.

This working group recognizes that people will rarely be able to buy everything they need or use from a local, independent business. A local first campaign spreads the message that every local buying decision has an impact on the community. Not only does the vendor benefit, but the community benefits by increased local revenue, jobs, and selection. The focus of this campaign does not rest merely with retail businesses; it includes all locally-owned business types and industries.

There are a variety of options as to how to launch this campaign and what tools to use. Options include marketing and educational tools such as window decals and posters for network members, coupon books, advertising materials, cooperative buying and co-marketing among network members.
