Membership Categories

  • Locally-owned businesses (voting members)
  • Non-profit organizations (associate member)
  • Individuals (associate member)

Non-profit organizations and individuals are welcomed as Associate members if their mission and goals support those of the McCloud Local-First Network.

What Is Locally Owned?

  • The business is privately held (stocks are not publicly traded)
  • The business owners, totaling greater than 50% of the business ownership, live in or near Siskiyou County.
  • For incorporated businesses, it is eligible if it is registered in California and corporate or national headquarters are located in Siskiyou County.
  • The business can make independent decisions regarding the name and look of the business, as well as all business purchasing, practices and distribution.
  • The business pays all marketing, rent and other business expenses (without assistance from a corporate headquarters) .

Expectations of Members

A membership organization is shaped and directed by those it serves. Members will give as they can and will benefit proportionately. We hope that your or your representative will

  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Contribute ideas and energy
  • Pay membership dues when assessed
  • Help develop and participate in Network programs
