A local business network is an organization that links locally-owned businesses with each other and with members of the community who see value in promoting the health and growth of those businesses. It works through a variety of programs which promote local businesses to the public, facilitate networking activities among the member businesses, develop group purchasing discounts, provide information regarding resources available to members, and provide an active public presence advocating for public policies to support the goals of the organization. Networks work to find local solutions or resources to replace ones which are currently outsourced.
